Former York City boss Gary Mills insists he's not worried by expectation after taking charge of Wrexham.
"I am going to do it with a smile on my face" - Gary Mills. The 53-year-old is instead relishing the prospect of reviving the fortunes of the North Wales club who are facing their eighth season out of the Football League. Mills left their Conference Premier rivals Gateshead this week in favour of succeeding the recently dismissed Kevin Wilkin at the Racecouse Ground. "The word expectation can either frighten you or inspire you, and it inspires me," he told the Daily Post. "What I have done going into York, the expectation there from their fans and I created a little bit of expectation, we got promoted out of this league. I went to Gateshead and in my first season created a lot of expectation so the word expectation doesn't frighten me. "There is no point in doing this job if that does frighten you, I am going to relish that, I am going to work hard, but I am going to do it with a smile on my face," Mills promised. "Because if you don't have a smile on your face in this job then unfortunately you don't succeed." Monty Simpson has been voted off the East Riding Minstermen Committee. Several fabricated stories regarding how the Branch is being run have recently been circulated and brought to my attention. These are totally untrue and have been damaging to the branch and it's committee members.. It has been decided that if the branch is to continue and move forward, we have to have a Committee who can work together. Every Branch members views are listened to carefully and i would like to thank all those who have said kind words about our committee. We will continue to provide meetings, travel and hopefully some get togethers during the Summer.
